Working Backwards

I have decided to work backwards through my pictures as I work on my layout goals (one a week). I am finally MAKING the time to create. This is the first post that actually has one of my own creations in it. I hope you enjoy:)

Goals

for yourself?

I ask this question because I attended a seminar not too long ago that inspired me to make a few goals for the upcoming year. Here are a few hints when making goals:

Not too hard
Not too easy
Must be measurable

So - here are a few of my "measurable" goals:
1. I will call my mom once a week (Hi mom!)
2. I will make a handmade card for each of my family members for their birthday - and mail it to them:)
3. I will organize & direct 2 scrapbooking retreats (May & October)
4. I will scrapbook 1 layout every week

These are just a few of the many that I have written down. Do you have any goals for the New Year? Share them here so we can encourage one another to keep up the good work!

Oh my! It has been way too long since our last post, life is pretty hectic here at The Ribbon Basket:) We are going to take a little bit more of a personal approach to the way we run the blog. Here are some improvements to come:

1. Obviously, we will let you know about the sales!
2. We will be posting more about day to day stuff around here.
3. I thought it would be fun to add some "how-to" projects that we found interesting.

If you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to comment, we would love to hear from you! How do you keep up on your blog? What are some tricks that you use to keep it fresh and exciting. Let us know!

Euphoria 6x6 Chipboard Album

This project was created for an upcoming class.

~ The front cover is layered with paper from the Euphoria collection by Basic Grey and cardstock by Bazzill. It is accented with coordinating buttons, a paper flower by Prima Marketing a large silk flower and of course - RIBBON.

~ Queen & Company's felt fusion has been cut to add a little happy swirl to the corner.

~ "MY" has been cut out using the Cricut Expressions, "Family" is created with Heidi-Black Rub ons by Making Memories and the edges were inked with a black ink pad.

1. Go to the comments section and start writing your message. Then type what you see in the picture below, don't forget the quotation mark.

2. Paste the URL (the red part in the picture below) right after the quotation mark.

3. Add the rest of the text, the colored part in this picture: quotation mark, bracket, what people will see in the comment (green part here)...

How do I add a link to my post?

A simple answer to this question is: www.photobucket.com. This is a free photo hosting service.

1. Take a picture of your project.
2. Download it onto your computer.
3. Go to www.photobucket.com.
4. Click the browse button - this will bring up the files on your computer for you to choose from.
5. Upload the picture into photobucket.
6. Go to the "My Album" tab.
7. There is a "direct link" option under your photo - copy the link. (Here is an example of what the link will look like http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee73/harmony_sings4u/March2008042.jpg)
8. Paste the link into your post and voila, the picture should pop up when others click on the link! (Click the link above and check it out:)
